Cash-week planner for Belfast salons
See the tight week coming six weeks out, not on the Friday. £19.
Who it’s for
Salon owners in Belfast and NI with 1 to 15 staff who’ve had a week where wages, rent and a big colour order all landed at once. You want one sheet that says what’s coming in and out each week.
What’s inside
- 13-week planner. Opening balance, takings in, money out, closing balance, week by week.
- Takings by stylist. Expected takings per stylist per week, plus retail and vouchers sold.
- Money out. Rent and rates, wages, PAYE and National Insurance, product orders, booking-app fees, card fees, utilities, insurance, loan.
- VAT set-aside line. Put a % aside each week so the VAT bill isn’t a shock (the % is your input).
- Warning line. Pick a minimum balance; weeks below it turn red.
- Chair-rent option. For salons with self-employed renters: rent in, no wages.
- Worked example. A four-chair salon in Ballyhackamore through October to December.
- Guide. Short PDF/Word guide on filling it in on a Monday in 15 minutes.
How you use it
- Type in this week’s bank balance.
- Fill expected takings per stylist for 13 weeks.
- Fill in the regular bills.
- Set your warning level.
- Every Monday, put in actuals and roll forward.
What it won’t do
- It isn’t accounting or payroll software.
- It doesn’t connect to your bank or booking app.
- It doesn’t work out your VAT or tax for you: rates and dates are yours to check with HMRC or your accountant.
- It isn’t financial advice.
Worked example: a four-chair salon in Ballyhackamore, 3 weeks
Warning level £2,500. Week 2 has the quarterly rent and a Christmas stock order.
| Week | Money in | Money out | Closing balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | £5,850 | £4,630 | £5,220 |
| Week 2 | £6,050 | £9,130 | £2,140 (below warning) |
| Week 3 | £6,300 | £4,680 | £3,760 |
Seeing Week 2 early, the owner split the stock order across two weeks.
