Price list templates for Belfast salons
One price list everywhere: on the wall, on the booking app and on Google. And know which services pay. £12.
Who it’s for
Salon and barber owners in Belfast and across NI who’ve put prices up in dribs and drabs, have three different price lists in circulation and aren’t sure which services actually earn their chair time.
What’s inside
- Price list spreadsheet. Service, duration, price, product cost. Works out price per hour and contribution per hour for every service.
- Stylist levels. Junior, stylist and senior columns, with an optional % uplift so you change one number.
- Price-rise sheet. Type in a % rise and see new prices rounded to the nearest £1 or 50p.
- A4 wall menu. Word template with your sections: cut and finish, colour, treatments, nails, brows and lashes.
- A5 desk card. Two-up on A4, ready to print and trim.
- ‘From’ prices wording. How to say ‘from’ honestly, and the consultation line for colour.
- Price-rise announcement. A short notice for the desk and a social post.
- Excel and Word. Works in Google Sheets and LibreOffice too.
How you use it
- Type your services, durations and prices into the spreadsheet.
- Add product cost per service (colour, toner, wax).
- Look at contribution per hour and sort it.
- Use the price-rise sheet if you’re changing prices.
- Copy the final prices into the Word menus and your booking app.
What it won’t do
- It won’t tell you what to charge. That’s your call.
- It isn’t accounting software and doesn’t include staff wages in the margin (see the cash-week planner for that).
- It doesn’t update your booking app automatically.
- It isn’t tax advice: check GOV.UK / HMRC for VAT.
Worked example: a Stranmillis salon’s colour menu
Contribution per hour is the price minus product cost, divided by the hours in the chair.
| Service | Price | Minutes | Product £ | Contribution / hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full head colour | £70 | 120 | £12 | £29.00 |
| Half-head foils | £80 | 120 | £10 | £35.00 |
| Balayage | £135 | 180 | £15 | £40.00 |
| Root tint | £50 | 75 | £7 | £34.40 |
| Toner and blow-dry | £45 | 60 | £5 | £40.00 |
Full head colour earned the least per hour, so the salon moved it up £8 and left the rest alone.
